Home-made pasta! I just made pasta using my KitchenAid Pasta Roller and Cutter set! The tomato plants in my garden have produced a surplus and there are more tomatoes than I know what to do with. Last night I made fresh marinara sauce, and linguine.
I whipped up the pasta dough in the food processor, then rolled out thin sheets of lovely pasta and finally cut it into fabulous strands of linguine! I have never felt more “chef-y” in my life! The pasta cooked up in a flash, and was delicious.
This accessory is a must have for your Kitchen Aid stand mixer. First linguine, next angel hair and beyond. I’ve got to get more cutters, my set only came with the linguine. More shopping to do!
I have been on the hunt for the best way to organize my earrings, and other jewelry. Every couple of months I would sort through my jumbled jewelry box, untangling necklaces and earrings for hours on end. Or at least it felt like it took hours. Luckily I came across the greatest idea for an earring frame from Carey at Corks and Caftans, who “borrowed” it from Pottery Barn. All I needed was a wooden frame, tiny screws, wire, and my fabulous husband who helped me put it all together. Thanks to Carey, I went from tangled and messy, to organized and fabulous in just an hour! One of the best, AND easiest DIY projects I’ve completed in a long time. Before:
I have been hunting for new patterns, online, in the library, at bookstores, everywhere! I haven’t reached the point where I can whip up a fabulous knitted garment on my own, but I do feel confident following a pattern. I just completed my latest project, mittens for the mister, and was in need of something new. So I was happy to receive an email from Vogue Knitting letting me know that all patterns were 50% off from 12/2 – 12/7. Just in time for Christmas, this year our Christmas shopping budget is much smaller than years before, so I have been on the lookout for fabulous patterns to give as gifts. Here’s what I got: I’m going to start with the cabled beret, it’s so cute I might have to make two… one for me and one for a gift! Then I’ll start on the cabled pullover with the cowl neck, it’s so darn cute! And just image how much it would cost if you bought it at a store. Get your half price Vogue Knitting patters now. Are you knitting anything for Christmas this year? |
